Main purpose of the meeting: Meeting dedicated to the LHC schedule 2024/2025, feedback from the JAP workshop and first discussion on the input for Chamonix
Introduction (Filip)
Slide 6:
Jorg commented that the limitation of the TDIS could still be affected by the temperature sensors
Sarah (ALICE) asked if the TDI can be used with opened gap for ZDC
Jorg commented that the cryo limit test is in conflict with vacuum activities and powering tests. May introduce a bit of delay at the restart.
Jorg commented that the filling scheme could be starting with a pure 36b train and if needed add 8b4e.
Jorg/Matteo confirmed to start directly with close to 1.6x10^11 ppb.
Filip confirmed that simulation is ongoing regarding AFP acceptance change
Matteo asked for a clarification regarding the ZDC installation, it is indeed one single day outside Technical Stop.
CMS (Giulia)
We will provide filling schemes, but we expect no limitations just more bunches
LHC-OP knows the best policy for beam dump. Optimize to the best value
b* = 20cm to be commissioned only once, but 24h is optimistics
ATLAS (Silvia)
Matteo confirmed that the BBA has an overhead in the pp reference run. Can be decided close to the pp reference run.
ALICE (Andrea)
Sarah asked CMS to confirm the interest on pp reference in 2025
LHCb (Niels)
No preference for the pp reference (yet)
David Stickland asked if the crossing angle switching is under discussion for 2025 (commented unofficially “very likely”).
