Main purpose of the meeting: Meeting dedicated to the ion run program for 2023
Federico (Introduction)
Slide 5:
Jorg commented that 50ns slip stacked beams are not ready yet in the SPS, mostly failing at the RF capturing step.
Slide 9:
Sarah asked if there is plan C with 75ns. Roderik said yes, but that it would take away time from 50ns split stack commissioning.
Slide 10:
Witold commented on the topic of burnoff mitigation. Idea would be to separate the experiments who don’t scan.
Experiments are expected to comment on this.
Witold also asked regarding the plan across experiments within the same fill. Lumi experts agree on the order.
Slide 11:
Roderik confirmed that crystal collimation is reproducible.
Jorg also commented that the stop on Friday afternoon will be a bit longer, probably until 4pm.
Sarah asked if we were still talking a few hours from now. Jorg commented we should be back by 6pm tonight.
We agreed the plan will go ahead as scheduled, independently of the time.
LSC during a physics fill for ATLAS/CMS, as a baseline separated from the VdM fill.
Gianni (CMS)
Required an emittance scan as early as possible, possibly in one of the ADJUST phases before going into collisions.
Silvia (ATLAS)
Federico commented that the LPC webpages will be fixed soon
Giovanni (LHCb)
Witold underlined the importance of having ghost charge measurement from LHCb
Sarah (ALICE)
Request for collisions as early as possible to be coordinated. Would be useful for all experiments to profit.
